On September 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., an event entitled "Wetland Stories" will take place at Torņakalns Station as part of the international new theater festival Homo Novus. The event will be dedicated to the Torņakalns Wetland – a unique, biologically diverse area near the Academic Center of the University of Latvia.

The Torņakalns wetland, also referred to in the media as a " accidental, temporary natural oasis," has raised questions about the coexistence of nature conservation and territorial development, as well as challenging existing perceptions in society about what biologically significant areas should be like and where they should be located. The aim of the event is to identify how representatives of different social groups perceive the future of wetlands and similar areas.

Participants are invited to share their experiences, knowledge, and thoughts about wetlands. The narrative can be personal, ecological, historical, technical, or artistic. There are no restrictions on the form of participation – it can be a story, a reading, a literary work, a musical piece, visual material, or another type of performance.

Accessibility: the event will take place behind Torņakalns Station, in the green area next to Vilkaines Street. The event is accessible to people in wheelchairs, but access is only available from Vilkaines Street, not from the station. The nearest publicly accessible toilet is located in the Latvian University Science House (Jelgavas Street 3), about a 10-minute walk away.
