On 2-4 April 2025, lead researcher Anne Sauka and researcher Kārlis Lakševics participated in the International Conference "Sensory Histories of Water" in Barcelona, Spain with a paper "Exploring Sensory Histories: Healing and Death in Human-Water Relations in Latvian Folklore".

The conference brought together researchers from different disciplines, including historians, art historians, anthropologists, philosophers and architects, who shared an interest in the history of sensed water and our relationship with the environment in the context of environmental humanities.

Following the conference, the organisers have launched a call for papers to be published in a collective monograph, which provides an excellent opportunity for our project researchers to share the results of their research in an international setting.
